There was double joy for TODAY Sportsperson of the Year 2009 Elizabeth Yin on Friday, when she learnt that she had scored 4As (Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Knowledge and Inquiry) and a C (Physics) in her GCE 'A' Level examinations. The national sailor and former Victoria Junior College student, 18, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Sydney. She was also recently awarded the university's elite athlete scholarship, which provides undergraduates with financial assistance of between AUSS41,000 to $10,000 ($1,267 to $12,672) per year. She won the girls' Laser Radial at the Volvo ISAF Youth World Sailing Championships, one of sailing most prestigious prizes after the Olympics and World Championships.
