Beach Cleanup & Gardening
Once again, in the spirit of environmentalism and our commitment to sustainability, we will be organising a beach cleanup! This time, we have 2 beach cleanups:
- 4pm with MCGI (Members Church of God International)
We encourage all sailors and parents to join in this initiative as it is our responsibility to take care of the environment that we hold our activities at. Above all, our actions today will determine our future.
Separately, after the sailors have launched, we will be doing some gardening at our Community Garden! We will be harvesting the plants and plant new ones!
We are partnering with Better Trails to screen A Plastic Ocean for everyone during NSC Cup 3! The movie screening will take place at 5.30pm, after the prize presentation ceremony. This is an incredible movie that sheds light on the state of our oceans and seas and we hope that this film will encourage everyone to do their part in improving our environment.
A PLASTIC OCEAN begins when journalist Craig Leeson, searching for the elusive blue whale, discovers plastic waste in what should be pristine ocean. In this adventure documentary, Craig teams up with free diver Tanya Streeter and an international team of scientists and researchers, and they travel to twenty locations around the world over the next four years to explore the fragile state of our oceans, uncover alarming truths about plastic pollution, and reveal working solutions that can be put into immediate effect.
