SG-Coach Level 2 Course (Full Integration)

Welcome to our coaching course, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to coach sailors in race sailing.

Pre-Requisites:

• Fully certified level 1 coach (either under SG-Coach or NCAP)
• Is maintaining a full NROC membership status
• Possess a valid power pleasure craft driving license (PPCDL) and valid standard first aid with CPR & AED certification
• Proficient in sail racing:
  • Previous racing experience at the national championships level or higher
  • Have a strong understanding of the Racing Rules of Sailing
• Have a registered Coaches and Officials account with Singapore Sailing Federation

Course Content (Sport Science)

Module 1 - Introduction to Exercise & Sport Science

Module 2 - Sport Physiology

Module 7 - Strength & Conditioning

Participants will be required to:

1) Complete online learning modules via SportSync before the commencement of the course.

2) Undertake five attachment sessions with the National Training Squad Programmes (to be arranged with Coach Developer after attending the course). Attachments must be completed within three months after the conclusion of module 6 (Sail Racing Skills).

3) To obtain the SG-Coach Level 2 certification, participants must satisfy the following course assessment criteria:

• Submit a periodised training plan and attend an in-person interview with the Technical Development Manager
• Demonstrate coaching competency when conducting a training session for a National Training Squad
• Pass the Intermediate Sport Science examination at Republic Polytechnic (examination fee excluded in this course)

Registration Information:

1. A minimum of 3 participants are required for the course to be run.
2. Registration will close 1 month before the commencement of the course. No exceptions will be made.
