Club Race Officer Course (Level 1)

Welcome to our race officer course, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills of sailing race management to run club-level regattas. In this hands-on course, you will be introduced to World Sailing's race management policies and course management practices.


Pre-Requisites

  • > 18 years old
  • Possess a valid Powered Pleasure Craft Driving License (PPCDL)
  • Prior experience as a sailor / an official in regattas will be advantageous

Post-Course Requirements:

  1. Pass the theory examination.
  2. Clock experience as an Assistant Race Officer at a club-level regatta.
  3. Pass the practical assessment as a Race Officer at a club-level regatta.

Course Fee Scheme:

Past and present National Training Squad sailors are eligible for a full course fee refund on the following basis within one year of attending the course:

  1. After attending the course, race officiate for at least two ranking regattas; and
  2. Have the Principal Race Officer endorse their competence for the events.
