Opti Star is the final step in their Optimist journey as they refine their racing skills and compete for spots in the ranking regatta. Opti Star sailors will acquire advance skills which will equip them to sail effectively in the Optimist Class under more demanding sailing conditions. They will also attain higher knowledge of racing rules. This programme paves the way for sailors to get into the National Training Squad, where they will have a chance to represent Singapore at regional and international competitions.
Opti Star consist of three separate training squads, Opti Star C, Opti Star B and Opti Star A. Sailors’ progression through the squads will be based on the National Ranking system.
Sailors in the Silver Fleet Ranking 41 onwards are eligible to join Opti Star C.
Sailors in the Silver Fleet Ranking 1-40 are eligible to join Opti Star B.
Sailors in the Gold Fleet are eligible to join Opti Star A.

Participants MUST have their personal PFD and boat* for training.
