Singapore clinches silver in Team Racing at the 2024 Optimist World Championships

Our Singaporean sailors, Ethan Chia, Sean Kum, Desiree Lee, Zeph Wan, and Pee Teck Woon lost 2-0 to Spain in the final.
 
The team had started strongly in the opening series. They beat Estonia, Sweden, and Portugal but lost to Spain.
 
With these results, they advanced into the top-16 knockout round. The team remained unbeaten, defeating Peru, Croatia, Puerto Rico, Great Britain, Argentina, and Brazil to make the final against Spain.
 
In the individual races, Ethan Chia and Sean Kum finished in the top 75 to qualify for the 2025 World Optimist Championship gold fleet.
 
The other three sailors, Desiree Lee, Zeph Wan, and Pee Teck Woon, are currently in the top 150 to qualify for the silver fleet.
