Windsurfing Coach Krai Sakda Leaves SSF after 7 years of Service
Krai Sakda is a windsurfing coach from Thailand who has been with the Federation coaching our windsurfers from 2012-2018. We would like to thank Krai and recognise him for his efforts over the last 7 years. His contributions to the team have been impressive, having coached our Singapore windsurfers for the past 3 SEA Games, 2 Asian Games and the Olympic Games in Rio 2016. We wish him the best of luck as he returns back to Thailand to continue coaching.
“I am really thankful to Krai for taking me under his wings after my 470 career, trying his best to help me improve as fast as possible in the short one year that I had leading up to Asian Games 2018. Thanks Krai for always believing in me and for being so encouraging all the time. Thank you for all your hard work and for bringing so much fun and laughter that made our tough trainings enjoyable! This campaign was a great experience for me and I wish you all the best for your future endeavours!”

“Thank you Krai, you have been awesome! Training under you may be stressful and tiring at times but they were also fun, enjoyable and exciting! I am really grateful to have learnt from you over the past few years, be it on land or water, about life or windsurfing. Will miss you shouting at me, laughing at me each time I fall, praising me, and everything. ขอบคุณครับ Krai, ‘be a man do the right thing!’ Take care, enjoy life, and see you again next time!”
Reynold Chan – National Windsurfer
“Thank you Krai for the past 7 years of coaching! Training under you was filled with so many ups & downs. I’m really grateful & blessed to have been able to learn so much from you. Will definitely miss bickering with you, miss your constant nagging, miss correcting your English, and talking to you about life. I will miss you. You have been a father figure to me since I was 13 and you helped fulfil my dreams of going to the Youth Olympic Games and trained me to be a windsurfer. I credit my success to you & how I wish we had more Games together. I’m so glad we did your last games representing team Singapore together and that we created even more memories. Krai, I wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Take good care of your health & always be happy. See you again very soon!! Thank you so much.”
Ynez Lim – National Windsurfer
“Thank you Krai for picking me back up when I needed it most in 2012 and for choosing to believe in us and our team over the last few years. I’m grateful for all the life and windsurfing lessons, all the fun and learning and to fight with ‘heart’. Wishing you all the best for the future and I’ll definitely be heading to Thailand for some kitesurfing soon!”
Audrey Yong – National Windsurfer
“Three words to describe Krai: Passion, Dedication and Fun! Krai was an amazing friend and coach. His passion for windsurfing was infectious! He loves growing the sport! During 2010, when he was coaching the Thai team, he was really kind enough to house me and coach me for free during the Worlds when I went there alone. He’ll seize every opportunity to windsurf with us and role model technique for us. His passion for windsurfing still shines brightly today.
He’s a dedicated coach who truly believes in his sailor! During our campaign for SEA Games 2015 and Olympics 2016, there were many times that we felt that it was impossible! His belief was like a reassurance! He’ll find means and ways for us to quickly improve. He is one who will never give up on us!
Lastly, he’s a fun coach! There was never once a dull moment with him! It’s prominent when we were training in China, where the Chinese training was regimental! He was able to make the training fun yet effective! The whole gym was filled with laughter and sweat!
Krai’s passion, dedication, and fun have made his sailors achieve great heights that many of us would not have achieved otherwise.”
